Independent testing, not a final click-through

Developers are poorly placed to test their own work. They know how the software is supposed to be used, so they rarely use it the wrong way, and customers always do. Independent QA brings a fresh set of eyes and a structured plan: what to test, on which browsers and devices, and at what point in the release cycle.

The test strategy covers the journeys that matter most to your business, such as sign-up, checkout, booking or reporting, and ranks the rest by risk so effort goes where a failure would hurt. Nothing is tested just to inflate coverage figures; every test exists because a failure there would matter.

Automated suites that run on every release

Manual testing finds the odd and the unexpected. Automation catches regressions, the old features that quietly break when something new ships. End-to-end tests are written in Playwright, API and integration tests check the services underneath, and both run automatically in your CI/CD pipeline so a failing build is stopped before it reaches production.

Cross-browser and real-device testing covers what your analytics say people actually use. Accessibility testing against WCAG 2.2 combines automated scanning with manual checks using a keyboard and screen reader, since tools alone miss many issues.

When to bring in QA

Testing pays off most before a major launch, after a redesign or replatform, when a product has outgrown its first developer, or when releases have started breaking things customers notice. It also suits teams with no tester at all who want a suite they can keep running themselves. Every test is handed over with documentation, so your developers can maintain and extend it after the engagement ends.

A typical engagement opens with a short audit of the testing that exists today, followed by a test plan, the first automated suite for your critical journeys and a round of manual testing before your next release. Bug reports are written so developers can act on them straight away: clear steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, screenshots or recordings, and a severity rating agreed with you.

Frequently asked questions

Can you test software another company built?

Yes. Independent testing works best when the tester did not write the code. Access to a staging environment and a short walkthrough of how the software is meant to work are enough to start writing the test plan.

Is automated testing enough on its own?

No. Automated tests are excellent at confirming that known behaviour still works, but they only check what they were written to check. Manual exploratory testing finds confusing flows, odd edge cases and visual problems, so a good plan uses both.

How much does it cost?

Every Software Testing & QA project is different, so we don't publish a price list. Answer a few questions in our quote builder and you'll get a personalised plan and estimate — compared with market prices and designed around your budget — in about 3 minutes.

Do I own what you build?

Yes. The code, content, accounts and data are yours. No lock-in — leave any time and we'll help you move.
