Headless vs. traditional CMS
A traditional CMS (classic WordPress) owns both content and presentation — quick to start, but themes and plugins constrain performance and design. Headless separates the two: content lives in the CMS (Sanity, Strapi, Contentful), presentation lives in code. The trade is flexibility and speed for a bit more initial build.
